THE YOKO SUNDAZE

$0.00

Grapefruit Sorbet • Ube Ice Cream • Kuromitsu Syrup • Sesame YES Cookie

Conceptual, luminous, and quietly revolutionary — Yoko has spent a lifetime asking us to imagine what isn’t there yet. Her art turns instructions into possibility, participation into creation, and simple gestures into invitations to see the world differently. The Yoko Sundaze carries that same spirit: vivid color, Japanese flavors, darkness and light, crowned with one small but powerful word — YES. A portrait of imagination, participation, and the radical possibility that before we can change the world, we must first imagine another one.

GRAPEFRUIT SORBET

An awakening in citrus. Bright, bittersweet, and startlingly alive- grapefruit cuts through the composition like an unexpected thought, asking the senses to wake up and pay attention.

UBE ICE CREAM

A color to dream inside. Velvety violet and softly earthy, a surreal field of purple waiting to be disturbed, transformed, and made into something that didn’t exist before.

KUROMITSU SYRUP

A brushstroke in black. Dark Japanese black-sugar syrup moves through the colors like liquid ink. Rich, meditative, and grounding, connecting imagination to something ancient and elemental.

BLACK SESAME YES COOKIE

Possibility you can hold. A dramatic crescent of toasted black sesame rises above the Sundaze, carrying one small white word: YES. Dark, sculptural, and hopeful - an invitation to look upward and believe that another possibility exists.

THE YOKO SUNDAZE EXPERIENCE

Yoko asks us not simply to look at art, but to enter it. Grapefruit and ube begin as separate fields of brightness and violet, while kuromitsu moves between them like a stroke of black ink. Then the rest is left to you. Stir. Swirl. Imagine. Watch one color disappear into another until something new emerges — a sky that didn’t exist before your hand made it. Above it all, a black sesame crescent carries a single word: YES. The Yoko Sundaze is not quite finished when it reaches you. You complete it — a small reminder that every different world begins when someone is willing to imagine it.

Sundaze Instruction

IMAGINE THE FLAVORS AS COLORS.

Swirl the purple and orange together with your cookie paintbrush until a new sky appears.

Now imagine what else could be different.

The Inspiration Behind the Sundaze

Each Sundaze flavor is paired with and inspired by an original, handcrafted ceramic cookie jar from Hazy Mae Cookie Jars—celebrating iconic figures through sculptural art and culinary flavor.
